Abuja, Nigeria – May 2, 2026
Today, I formally obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms to contest for the Kogi East Senatorial District seat.
From the very beginning, this journey has been about one thing: delivering purposeful, effective representation to the people of Kogi East. For too long, our people have yearned for this, and what we seek to build is nothing short of a new beginning.
This has always been about the people.
Over the past few months, we have travelled across our communities in wide consultation, engaging, listening, and sharing our vision. It has been a deeply humbling experience, and today marks the next step in that collective journey. Every process has its path, and every journey must show proof of progress. The forms obtained today represent a significant milestone built on purpose, patience, and a genuine commitment to serve.
As a loyal party member who believes firmly in the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the administration of Ahmed Usman Ododo, I have remained respectful of our party’s processes and leadership structure. I have given our leaders and stakeholders the necessary space to guide the direction of our great party. However, the journey we have collectively built must continue to move forward. The step taken today is both procedural and purposeful; firmly aligned with our commitment to service.
At all times, I remain committed to the supremacy of our party. Whatever the eventual outcome, I will stand firmly with the APC, whether as its flag bearer or as a loyal member working for its success.
To the good people of Kogi East, our message remains consistent. Everything we have done, and everything we will continue to do is for you. This movement is about restoring confidence, expanding opportunities, and ensuring that our collective voice is heard where it matters most.
I extend my sincere appreciation to those who have supported, guided, and believed in this journey. I am particularly grateful to His Excellency the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, my mother and political guide Hajiya Halima Alfa. Your counsel and encouragement remain invaluable.
To our leaders and stakeholders across Kogi East and beyond, I thank you for your continued belief in this shared vision.
Let me reiterate: every commitment I have made stands. Our vision goes beyond promises; it is rooted in a broader, long-term aspiration for sustainable development and inclusive progress for our people.
As I have always said, every task must have a receipt. Today, we present this milestone to the people of Kogi East.
